đź’› Advocating from the Heart. | Misha Mehta
💛 Advocating from the Heart. Fighting for Every Child. 💛 This week, I had the honor of advocating alongside Michele Lew and Sandeep Kolte during the Children’s Hospital Association’s Family Advocacy Day #FAD2025 in Washington, D.C. A powerful reminder that behind every data point and policy gap is a child, a family, and a story that deserves to be heard. I shared my son Neev’s story, the joy he brought into the world, the courage he showed during his battle with DIPG, and the urgent need for change that his legacy demands. In rooms filled with lawmakers and hospital leaders, we didn't just speak, we showed what’s at stake when childhood illness is met with inadequate funding, fragmented care systems, and shrinking access to life-saving innovation. Stanford Children's Health | Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford has stood with families like mine, not only delivering world-class care but listening, uplifting, and fighting for solutions that go beyond hospital walls. Together, we carried forward the voices of children who can’t speak for themselves and the families who never imagined needing to. Pediatric health care shouldn’t depend on zip codes or fundraising. It should be a national priority. And thanks to days like this, it’s clear we’re not alone in believing that. To every policymaker who listened, and to every hospital, parent, and child who shared their truth: thank you for reminding me that advocacy is action, and that love-fierce, grief-carved, and hopeful, is our most powerful tool for change.
